The University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability & Sea Grant officially announces that applications are officially open for the Community Backyard Aquaponics System Program (CBAS).
Do you want to take control of your food security and learn how to grow your own fresh food right in your backyard? Aquaponics combines aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil) to create a sustainable, efficient food system.
Selected applicants will receive:
A free backyard aquaponics system kit (valued at over $3500)
Comprehensive training workshops on aquaponics techniques and maintenance (workshop completion is mandatory for eligibility)
Ongoing technical support from UOG CIS & Sea Grant Specialists
This program directly supports global goals to eliminate poverty, fight hunger, and build resilient infrastructure.
Individuals, community groups, and businesses are welcomed to apply.
